Local SEO services in UKthat put you in the map pack

Around half of UK searches carry local intent, and the map pack sits above every organic result. If your business is not in those three listings, the call has already gone to a competitor before your website gets a look. That is the gap we close.

What the work involves

Three parts to every local SEO campaign we run

Local ranking comes down to three signals Google weighs together: how complete and active your profile is, how well your site proves you serve each area, and how much other people vouch for you. Neglect any one and the map pack stays out of reach.

Business Profile Local SEO specialist reviewing a Google Business Profile for a UK client

A Business Profile that is worked, not just claimed

Most profiles are filled in once and forgotten. Google reads activity as a signal, so a profile that is updated, posted to and answered on will out rank a more established competitor that sits still.

  • Categories and services set correctly. The primary category alone decides which searches you are eligible to appear in.
  • Products, photos and posts kept current. Updated on a schedule rather than left untouched for a year.
  • Questions answered before customers ask. The Q and A section seeded properly so the answers come from you, not strangers.
  • Service areas and hours accurate. Including bank holidays, which is where most UK profiles quietly go wrong.
Location pages Strategist planning location pages for a UK multi area business

A real page for every area you actually serve

One page listing thirty towns ranks for none of them. Google wants evidence you serve an area, and a thin page with the place name swapped in is the fastest way to get the whole set ignored.

  • Genuinely different content per area. Local jobs, local pricing context and the services that area actually asks for.
  • LocalBusiness schema per location. Address, hours and service area marked up so machines read it correctly.
  • Service pages crossed with areas. Built only where there is real search demand, not fifty pages nobody looks for.
  • Internal linking that maps the patch. Area pages connected to services so both climb together.
Citations & reviews Reviewing citations and customer reviews for a UK local business

Consistent details and reviews that keep arriving

Google cross checks your name, address and phone number across the web. One old listing with a previous number quietly undermines everything else, and reviews are the signal customers weigh hardest once you do appear.

  • Citations cleaned and consistent. Yell, Thomson Local, Bing Places and the directories your sector actually uses.
  • Review requests on a routine. A process your team can keep up with, timed to when the customer is happiest.
  • Replies that read like a person. Every review answered, including the bad ones, because prospects read those first.
  • Duplicate listings removed. Old or unclaimed profiles that split your signals and confuse customers.
Why work with us

What tends to be different about working here

Every agency claims transparency and results. These are the specific commitments we make, which you are welcome to hold us to.

Reported in calls, not rankings

Map pack position is a diagnostic, not a result. Your monthly report leads with calls, direction requests and enquiries. Where you sit in the three pack appears further down, where it belongs.

You own everything

Your Business Profile, analytics and every location page we build stay in your name. We work with our own access rather than taking over the login, and if we part ways you keep everything.

No long lock in

An initial period long enough for the work to be judged fairly, then rolling terms. If the numbers stop moving and we cannot explain why, you should be free to leave.

Senior people on your account

The person who audits your profile is the person who works on it. Nothing gets sold in a pitch by one team and handed to a junior the week after signing.

Honest before profitable

If your patch is too small or too competitive for local SEO to move the number, we tell you at the audit stage rather than taking six months of retainer to arrive at the same answer.

No fake locations, ever

Virtual offices and addresses you do not trade from will rank for a while and then get your profile suspended. We build service area coverage the legitimate way, because a suspension costs far more than the shortcut saves.

Map pack Local search map pack results for Westmorland Roofing in Cumbria

Westmorland Roofing

Cumbria · Map pack visibility

3,359Profile interactions
268Calls from local search
843Actions in peak month
6Service areas ranking

A family run roofing firm that ranked in its own town and nowhere else across Cumbria. The profile had one category set, no service list and photos from three years earlier. We rebuilt it properly, gave each service area its own page instead of one list of place names, and put review requests on a routine the team could keep after a job was signed off. Interactions climbed month on month and the phone became the main enquiry channel again.

Roofing Google Business Profile insights for Urmston Roofing showing rising interactions

Urmston Roofing

Urmston, Greater Manchester · Business Profile insights

Top 3Map pack position
406Profile interactions
51Calls from local search
161Website clicks

Urmston sits inside the Greater Manchester sprawl, where a roofer competes against firms in every neighbouring town rather than just its own. The profile was ranking outside the top three, which in practice means invisible, because most searchers never expand the list. We rebuilt the categories and services, published proper area pages and kept reviews coming in steadily. The profile now holds a top three map pack position for its core terms, and 51 of those interactions came through as direct calls rather than clicks.

Roofing Local search results for North Yorkshire Roofing

North Yorkshire Roofing

North Yorkshire · Business Profile insights

Top 3Map pack position
410Profile interactions
175Website clicks
43%Interactions to site

A roofing firm working across a large rural county, where the towns sit far enough apart that ranking in one does nothing for the next. We built coverage area by area rather than treating North Yorkshire as a single patch, rebuilt the Business Profile around the services that actually get searched, and put review requests on a routine. The profile moved into the top three of the map pack across its priority areas, and 175 of the 410 interactions went on to the website, which is a high share for a trade profile.

How we start

Four steps from first call to map pack

The order is deliberate. Nothing gets published until we know which areas are worth competing in and what a call is worth to you.

Local audit

Profile health, citation consistency, review position and which competitors hold the three pack in each of your areas. You get the findings whether you work with us or not.

Tracking and targets

Call tracking, form conversions and Business Profile insights connected properly, plus an agreed target so success is not a matter of opinion later.

Rebuild and publish

Profile fixed first, then location pages and citations in priority order, starting with the areas that carry the most demand.

Review and scale

Monthly review against calls booked. Effort moves toward the areas that produce work and away from those that do not, with the reasoning shown.

Questions

What UK clients ask before signing

How much do local SEO services in UK cost?
It depends on how many locations you have and how competitive your area is. A single site business in a quiet patch is a very different job to six branches competing across a city. We quote after the audit, never before, and we work with monthly budgets from £500. If that is not enough to compete where you trade, we will tell you.
How long before we appear in the map pack?
Local SEO moves faster than national organic search. Profile fixes can shift things within two to four weeks, and most accounts see meaningful movement between month two and month four. Highly contested city centres take longer, particularly where competitors have hundreds of reviews and years of history.
We cover several towns. Do we need a page for each one?
Only for areas with real search demand and real work behind them. Thirty near identical pages with the place name swapped in is the fastest way to get the whole set ignored, and Google has become good at spotting it. We build fewer pages with genuinely different content, which ranks better and takes less maintaining.
Can we rank in a town we do not have an address in?
In the map pack, proximity to the searcher is a strong factor, so ranking in a town you have no presence in is difficult and sometimes not possible. Organic local results are more open, and a well built service area page can rank there. What we will not do is register a virtual office, because that is what gets profiles suspended.
How important are reviews?
Very, for two separate reasons. They influence where you rank, and they influence whether someone calls you once they see you. A business sitting third in the pack with ninety reviews frequently takes more work than the one sitting first with six.
Do you handle multi branch businesses?
Yes, and it is where the fastest returns often sit. Each branch needs its own profile, its own page and its own review flow. What usually holds these businesses back is one thin page listing every location, which competes with itself and ranks for none of them.
